Doug and Susanna Harrison founded The SCOOTER Store with the dream to help people with limited mobility regain freedom and independence. Based on a core ideology, "Always Do the Right Thing," The SCOOTER Store has grown from a vision into a highly successful national enterprise with over 2,800 employees who have helped more people (over 600,000) with limited mobility than any other company in the nation.
The long-term goal for The SCOOTER Store is to "Give every elderly or disabled American the ability to live their life safely and confidently at home." This goal is at the very heart of everything we do. The company passionately believes that disabled and senior Americans deserve to be happy, healthy, and safe in their homes, and connected to their family, friends, and community.
In 2007, The SCOOTER Store founded a complex rehab division, Alliance Seating & Mobility, to help clients unable to rely on standard power mobility equipment to meet their individual and unique mobility needs. Alliance Seating & Mobility provides customized complex rehab solutions supported with nationwide service and a network of seating specialists with the Assistive Technology Supplier/Assistive Technology Professional (ATS/ATP) certification by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
